My Speech
Title: Online Gaming is a good thing!
Ok, i'm going to say something controversial for the Mum’s, Dad’s or teachers in the audience. But I think Online Gaming is a good thing! We should have more opportunities at school and home to play.
Ok, let me first talk to you about what online games are. Online games are when you play with your friends or with other people in a team but mostly at our age. There are a range of games out there such as Fortnite, Pubg, and way more around the world. And they’re not just for consoles like ps4 and xbox, but on your computer is well.
My first reason is that online games are faster and have a better quality sound and graphics. I don’t know about you, I hate downloading games on the computer. It takes way to long too much downloading and you have to have a 2,000 mgb (megabytes) for starters and secondly, other gaming consoles can be way more faster than an old pc computer.
My second reason is that it teaches many students to develop strategy skills and keep on trying. Students playing online games can achieve small goals and are motivated to keep trying to solve difficult problem. It helps to focus the mind and to learn to multitask. So if you play minecraft you could build different structures and at the same time you need to check your animals and your crops are thriving.
My third reason is that when you play with students around the world you learn about different cultures. You learn to take turns, cooperate and work together. Like In fortnite you have to work together to get to the top otherwise your out of the game.
However to use online games there are a few rules to go through. you shouldn’t pair up with someone you don’t know because if they ask you where you live then if you do tell them well that's not good because they could figure out where you live. If they say what country do you live in then that's ok because that's only your country not your address.
Online games can be safe as long as you know the rules. Don’t give out personal information, passwords or phone numbers. Online gaming is fun but as long as everybody is safe and sensible.

Prime Minister,
We would like to tell you about a program called Garden to Table that we have at Owairaka District School. Owairaka is a great place to learn, its in Mt Albert, Auckland.
Firstly we would like to explain that garden to table is an educational program that helps people learn how to cook and garden. We harvest delicious and healthy veggies from the school garden and use them to cook tasty food with. It's also culturally aware. Last time we had turkish food and before that sushi because we have student from those countries in our classroom.
Every week the groups swap over positions so one week you cook and one week you garden. When we cook we measure carefully like the right amount of sugar and the right amount of milk. If you don’t the recipes won’t work. We also have these things called Knife licenses and if you have one it means you can use the knife properly. We also get help from adults or parent volunteers who give up their time own time to help us learn to cook.
In the garden we harvest and fruit or veggies to use in the kitchen and use our math skills to plant seedlings at the right amount of depth. We have learnt about composting and how a worm farm works. We have a really big one at school. We also check in on our Chickens and bees to make sure that they are healthy and in tip top condition.
We think that the Garden to Table program help us learn to take initiative, teach us life skills so we can help around the house and makes learning reading and maths fun (and tasty). We think you should come and visit so you can see for yourself how amazing this Garden to Table program is and hopefully your Government will help other school have this opportunity.
Yours sincerely,
Tana, Ben and Questyn

Title
The fastest cars in the world.
Introduction
Imagine, an invisible force pushing you back into your seat. You hear the loud rumbling of a 1,350 Horse powered engine as you accelerate down a long straight road. You are sitting so low down you feel like you are touching the ground. Everyone you pass stops and looks at you as you fly passed. Yes, I am talking about driving some of the fastest cars in the world
Big Idea
The 1st fastest car in the world is the koenigsegg agera R . It was first made in 2012 and it was seen in the geneva motor show, if I had a koenigsegg i would order it in chrome blue with gold stripes and the price of it is $2.1million.
Big Idea
2nd fastest car is the Hennessey venom GT. It is made by Hennessey Performance Engineering. The hennessey venom can have a speed up to 270 miles per hour. If you want to buy this car it is 1.2million and if I had one I would have it custom made and the color would be red and black.
Big Idea 3. The 3rd fastest car is the Bugatti veyron super sport. It is almost as fast as the Hennessey venom. The Bugatti veyron can reach a speed up to 267 miles per hour. If I had a Bugatti veyron I would wrap it in chrome gold and it would cost $2.7million.
Big Idea
The 4th fastest car is the porsche 9ff gt9-R. It was built in Germany. The founder of the car is Jan Fathauer the price range is from£150, 000 to £540,000. Its runs for 450 km/hour. If I had one of these cars I would
Concluding Statement
The feeling of driving fast is like nothing else I have ever thought about. It’s like no other because of the feeling you get as you pass the car next to you, that’s why I love fast cars. I wish I can drive one of this car in near future soon. What do you think, do you want to join me? Which one would you pick?

The Mighty Gorilla
Did you know that gorilla can learn sign language and are our closest relatives in the animal kingdom. They are endangered and need our protection.
What do Gorillas look like?
The Gorilla is enormous and they live to 35 or 40 years old. The max weight of a gorilla is 160 kgs. It has ten fingers and ten toes just like humans. Gorillas have a thick body and they can grow up to 6 feet tall that is 1.8cms. They have a shiny black back but the gorillas with a shiny silver hair on their back are called silver backs.
Gorillas diet
Gorillas are mostly vegetarian but some eat insects like ants and termites. Gorillas eat vegetables such as wild celery, bamboo shoot, stinging nettles and thistles
Where they live?
They live in thick forests and woodlands in Africa. Some gorilla are even found on the side of misty mountains up over 10,000 feet. They are called the rulers of the forest.
How do they behave?
They live in a family called a troop. The boss is the silverback and he tells them where to go and what to eat. In the troop there are a lot of females and babies. They sleep in nests and spend the day grooming and playing. They are usually gentle and calm unless they feel threatened.
I think we should look after the gorillas because they are our closest living relatives. They are kind, gentle and intelligent. We need to protect their homes and learn more about them.
